Members of the Rotary Club of West Pearl Harbor in Waipahu, together with over 46,000 other clubs in over 200 countries, have made the decision to "be the change we wish to see in the world" as entreated by Mahatma Gandhi.
 
Since chartered in 1971, members of the West Pearl Harbor Rotary Club have helped to eradicate the scourge of polio in Ghana, supported leadership development and education in Hawaii through scholarships, provided maternal care to impoverished young mothers through medical missions in Laoag, Philippines, and have helped to provided food, clothing, and computer literacy to orphans and parentless children in Cambodia, in addition to providing prosthetic hands for landmine victims and the construction of more than 36 water wells in drought-stricken areas.
