PRESENTATIONS

During each club meeting, we have organizations from the community present on topics which also reflects the 7 areas of focus in Rotary: Disease Prevention and Treatment, Peace and Conflict Resolution, Clean Water and Sanitation, Maternal and Child Health, Basic Education and Literacy, Economic and Community Development, and Supporting the Environment. 

Waipahu Girl Up

Girl Up is funded by the United Nations working towards a more equitable world for girls and women. They are expanding girls’ skills, rights, and opportunities to lead while changing the face of leadership for generations to come.

Pacific Gateway Center

PGC is a nonprofit that promotes empowerment and self-sufficiency to rebuilding lives for refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers and survivors of human and sex trafficking. 

Public Health Nurses from Waipahu Civic Center

There are 19 nurses and 3 office assistants in the Leeward Oahu Public Health Nurse section that covers areas of Waipahu to Waianae. Their key role in the community include control of communicable disease, emergency preparedness and response, and promotion of health and wellness of communities.

Accountability Program
(Papa Ho`ike Kuleana)

The mission of Papa Ho`ike Kuleana is to provide meaningful opportunities for youth to complete court ordered restitution or community service in a manner that promotes forgiveness, healing, and empowerment through mentorship. 

Waipahu Safe Haven

An immigrant resource center with a mission to provide holistic services with language access for community members, in hope of serving as a beneficial and guiding resource towards attaining success, empowering children and families to be self-sustaining, and becoming positive community contributors.

Friends of Waipahu Public Library

This nonprofit organization's primary objective is to maintain free public libraries in the State of Hawai‘i, to promote extension of library services throughout the State of Hawai‘i and to increase the facilities of the public library system of Hawai‘i by securing materials beyond the command of the ordinary library budget. Other objectives are to focus attention on libraries and to encourage and accept, by bequest or gift, donations of books, manuscripts, money, and other appropriate material that can enrich the cultural opportunities available to the people of Hawai‘i.
